Myocardial Infarction in the Young *

چکیده
We reviewed the records of 2,400 consecutive patients undergoing cardiac catheterization at USAF Medical Center Keesler between 1978 and 1984 and found 35 patients (1.5 percent of all cardiac catheterizations) aged 35 years or less (mean age, 32 years) who underwent cardiac catheterization after myocardial infarction. These 35 patients (group 1) were compared to a randomly selected group of 100 patients (group 2) aged 55 years or greater who underwent cardiac catheterization for evaluation of coronary artery disease during the same period. The two groups were compared in terms of angiographic features and risk factors for coronary artery disease. The patients in group 1 had a higher proportion of normal coronary arteries (14 percent [5 patients] vs 0; p<O.Ol) and singlevessel disease compared to group 2, while the incidence of

Enzymatic and Immunogenic Changes of Myocardial Infarction
Diagnosis of myocardial infarction is very important in a patient with chest pain. Chest pain is not always present or it may be from other causes rather than myocardial infarction. Q wave is present in 30] of infarction. ST,T wave changes are present in all myocardial infarctions, but these changes also are present in myocardial ischernia. For these reasons diagnosis of myocardial infarction...
متن کاملThe effect of aspirin therapy on the plasma renin activity in myocardial infarction
In this study, the changes of renin system activity and the effects of aspirin therapy on the plasma renin activity ( PRA) in myocardial infarction were investigated. Fifty nine patients with myocardial infarction were selected. By suppressed in the former group which was statistically significant ( p<0.01).

Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
متن کاملAssessment of Periodontal Parameters and Serum Markers in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Background: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in developed countries and is a disease that has many contributing factors. Periodontal disease is one of the factors contributing to the progression of the disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of periodontal disease on the incidence of acute myocardial infarction. Methods: In this case-control study, 60 su...
متن کاملQT-Dispersion as a potential marker in prognosis of acute myocardial infarction
Introduction: QT dispersion in a 12 lead ECG represents the heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization. The prolongation of QT-interval dispersion increases the risk of coronary heart disease, ventricular arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death in patients with myocardial infarction. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of QT-dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Meth...
متن کاملMyocardial Infarction in a Rhesus Monkey
Myocardial necrosis can be result from a number of causes including nutritional deficiencies, chemical and plant toxins, ischemia and metabolic disorder. The outcome of myocardial necrosis varies depending on the extent of the damage (Donald 2001, Jubb 1993, Radostits 1994, Vanvaleet 1986). Myocardial infarction without demonstrable of atherosclerosis were reported in a rhesus macaque (Gonder 1...
